Сводка

Location: Schaftenau, Austria #onsite

Role Purpose:
We are seeking a Senior Analytical Expert with a strong passion for using data, data science approaches, and digital technologies to improve quality and efficiency in process analytical sciences applied to late‑phase development of biologics. In this role, you will combine deep analytical expertise with a modern digital mindset—going beyond the application of digital tools to actively evolve how data is generated, integrated, and leveraged for decision‑making, using advanced data analysis, automation, and scalable digital solutions to strengthen data‑informed decisions and accelerate development.

You will work in close partnership with cross‑functional teams across Analytical Development, Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP) development, and digital/data experts to deliver robust analytical strategies aligned with Quality by Design (QbD) principles, and to systematically convert complex, multi‑dimensional analytical data into actionable insights that guide project and portfolio decisions.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish physicochemical analytical strategies for DS, DP, and process intermediates according to Quality by Design (QbD) principles, and scientifically guide matrix teams, ensuring that data generation is fit‑for‑decision and aligned with downstream data use.
  • Analyze, interpret and contextualize analytical results and apply data science‑driven, model‑based, and digital solutions to increase efficiency and enable robust, transparent, and traceable data‑informed decisions for DS / DP process / formulation development and characterization.
  • Develop and continuously advance data analysis strategies in process analytical sciences, with a strong focus on embedding data science concepts and decision‑support logic to strengthen quality, efficiency, and project‑level decision‑making together with DS and DP development partners.
  • In strong collaboration with partners, design, build, and maintain simulation‑based digital twins, and other predictive or decision‑support models, incorporating demand forecasts, capacity constraints, policies, and operational variability (as applicable to the business context).
  • Identify and improve data and automation use cases by providing expert insights, shaping how analytical and process data are combined, and delivering practical solutions and scientific guidance.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and advances in data science, advanced analytics, automation technologies, and digital innovation relevant to analytical sciences.
  • Support the creation of high‑quality scientific documents for handover to internal and/or external partners, and support the preparation of international regulatory submission documents with minimal supervision, clearly articulating data‑based rationales and decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on data science and analytical chemistry.
  • Solid understanding of drug development under Quality by Design (QbD) principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of data science and statistical data analysis, with a clear passion for using data to drive scientific and operational decisions, and for applying digital approaches to analytical sciences in drug development.
  • Strong scientific/technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate data‑based insights and recommendations effectively across disciplines.
  • Open, curious, and problem‑solving mindset, thriving in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility and continuous learning.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

What You’ll Bring (Success Factors)

  • A strong blend of analytical expertise and data science capability, paired with pragmatic execution.
  • Confidence working in matrix teams, influencing without authority, and translating complex datasets into clear, high‑quality decisions.
  • A drive to improve both scientific outcomes and operational efficiency through data‑driven modeling, automation, and scalable digital solutions.
