Job description summary
The Innovative Data Offerings and Products Lead is an Executive Director role responsible for setting the vision, roadmap, prioritization, and adoption strategy for innovative data products and offerings portfolio. The role oversees both the Innovative Data Products team and the Innovative Data Offerings team, ensuring investments align to business strategy, strengthen reusability, reduce duplication, and deliver measurable outcomes across customer, patient, commercial, and foundational data domains.
Reporting to the Head of Data Partnerships, Innovation and Products, this lead-er establishes product management standards, governance, funding priorities, and the operating model for data products and innovative offerings. The role partners closely with business, analytics, technology, DEO, data teams, external data vendors, and technology vendors to maximize value from data assets, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and ensure the portfolio delivers meaningful business impact.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the vision, roadmap, prioritization, and adoption strategy for the enterprise data product portfolio, ensuring investments align to business strategy and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee the Innovative Data Products team and Innovative Data Offerings team, creating focus, clarity, and alignment across portfolio priorities, product delivery, innovation opportunities, and stakeholder needs.
- Establish product management standards, governance, funding priorities, and operating model across customer, patient, commercial, and foundational data domains.
- Partner with business, analytics, technology, DEO, external data vendors, and technology vendors to drive reusability, reduce duplication, strengthen data asset value, and enable consistent product practices across the enterprise.
- Own product portfolio performance, stakeholder engagement, adoption, and realization of business value across priority data products and innovative offerings.
- Work with DEO, external data vendors, and technology vendors to evaluate innovative capabilities, inform build-versus-buy decisions, and ensure vendor-enabled solutions align with portfolio priorities, governance expectations, and business value goals.
- Define portfolio-level success measures, investment tradeoffs, dependency management, and decision forums to ensure resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities.
- Represent the enterprise data product portfolio with senior stakeholders, communicating priorities, progress, risks, value realization, and decisions required to accelerate impact.
Experience:
Novartis seeks an enterprise data product leader with deep experience setting portfolio strategy, leading product and offering teams, and driving measurable business value from data assets at scale. The individual should bring strong product management, operating model, governance, funding prioritization, stakeholder engagement, vendor partnership, and cross-functional leadership experience across customer, patient, commercial, and foundational data domains. This leader must be able to translate business strategy into a clear data product portfolio roadmap, make investment tradeoffs, work effectively with DEO, external data vendors, and technology vendors, drive adoption, and ensure data products and innovative offerings deliver meaningful outcomes for the enterprise.
Essential Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in data products, data strategy, analytics, technology, digital transformation, product management, or related enterprise leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading enterprise data product portfolios, setting roadmaps, prioritizing investments, and translating strategy into measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of product management standards, governance, funding models, operating models, adoption, and value realization for enterprise data products.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders across business, analytics, technology, DEO, data organizations, external data vendors, and technology vendors.
- Experience in regulated industries, including pharma, healthcare, data, analytics, or technology-enabled environments, is strongly preferred.
Novartis Compensation Summary:
The salary for this position is expected to range between $236,600.00 and $439,400.00 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
