The role drives field medical excellence, strengthens external scientific partnerships, and ensures high-quality insight generation to support medical and cross-functional decision-making.
About the Role
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day people leadership, coaching, and scientific guidance to the Medical Science Liaison team, building a high-performance and patient-centric culture.
- Conduct regular joint field visits to ensure high-quality scientific engagement, coaching, and impact of medical discussions.
- Drive credible, unbiased, and compliant scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and medical experts through the MSL team.
- Ensure excellence in medical education activities, including peer-to-peer discussions, scientific meetings, and local educational initiatives.
- Oversee high-quality external insight generation and ensure systematic integration of insights into medical and cross-functional strategies.
- Guarantee compliance with ERC, governance, and medical regulations across all field medical activities and materials.
- Provide medical insights and scientific interpretation to internal stakeholders including Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, Regulatory, and Clinical Research.
- Represent the MSL function in cross-functional forums and, when appropriate, at regional or international engagements.
- Build and maintain strong scientific partnerships with medical experts, academic institutions, and scientific societies.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and capability development of the MSL organization, strengthening succession and future readiness.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent) with relevant experience in field medical roles; fluency in English and local language (Romanian) required.
- Proven experience as a Medical Science Liaison or similar field-based scientific role.
- Strong scientific acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data.
- Demonstrated people leadership or coaching experience within scientific or medical teams.
- Solid understanding of healthcare systems, research, and evidence generation.
- Experience collaborating effectively in cross-functional, matrix environments.
- Strong compliance, governance, and ethical judgment in medical activities.
- Ability to leverage digital engagement tools and omnichannel approaches for scientific exchange.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centric, growth-oriented leadership mindset.
