The Analyst delivers accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations while supporting BPA priorities and business decision-making.
The role manages end-to-end FinOps activities (POs, invoices, vendors, accruals, and reporting) and partners with BPAs to provide spend visibility, variance insights, and operational clarity.
It enables operational excellence, strong financial controls, and builds BPA-relevant experience through planning support and financial analysis within Novartis’ global finance model.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations Execution: Execute end‑to‑end PR/PO/SOW lifecycle while ensuring alignment with BPA budgets, forecasts, and business priorities.
- Manage invoicing, service confirmations, and payment follow‑ups to drive timely closures and provide accurate spend visibility to BPAs. Partner with Procurement to support vendor onboarding, master data, and lifecycle management.
- Accruals, Close & Controls: Support monthly/quarterly close, including accruals, variance analysis, and invoice cut‑off, ensuring alignment with BPA outlooks.
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation and ensure adherence to financial controls. Identify and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with BPAs and Finance teams.
- Stakeholder & Query Management: Act as a key contact for finance operations queries from business stakeholders and BPAs, ensuring clarity and responsiveness. Provide actionable updates, insights, and guidance to minimise rework and improve decision‑making.
- Escalate risks proactively to maintain continuity and financial accuracy.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Support dashboards and reporting that provide spend visibility, variance insights, and actionable inputs for BPA decision‑making. Drive standardization, simplification, and automation across FinOps processes. Adhere to SOPs and contribute to capability building through training and knowledge transfer.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience across Financial Operations, FRA, BPA, or P2P environments.
- Hands‑on experience in PO lifecycle, invoicing, accruals, and reconciliations with strong analytical mindset.
Desirable Requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
- Exposure to US finance operations and global operating models.
- Working knowledge of Ariba, SAP/FICO, Mercury, and vendor platforms.
- Strong Excel and reporting capabilities with focus on insights and decision support.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional and regulated teams.
